Responding to FGC Questions

I received a pretty thorough email response to my most recent project—The Resurgence of the 3-D Fighting Game and just wanted to give my response to the points made on the email and why I came to the conclusion that I did.

Topics on this week’s show include:

  • Responding to FGC email
  • Character difficulty in fighting games

After receiving an email from a listener who was going through a bit of hard time, I decided to record a podcast explaining why I feel fighting games can serve as a great escape from the monotony of the everyday grind.

Topics on this week’s show include:

  • Why fighting games can be a good distraction

One of my longer solo podcasts I've done where I ramble about different types of content I want to create, commentary style, and the topic of marketing in fighting games.

Topics on this week’s show include:

  • The FGC's approach to marketing and promotion
  • Mike Ross' and his departure from the FGC

A short podcast before work, I talk a little about Soulcalibur VI's recent problems, the status of a new indie fighting game—Omen of Sorrow, and finish off with how narrative exists in the FGC.

Topics on this week’s show include:

  • Soulcalibur VI gameplay issues
  • Omen of Sorrow initial thoughts
  • The FGC's narrative

A quick update on fighting game related projects, and I talk about where the fighting game genre stands compared to mainstream gaming. The thought came after voting on a Twitter poll by an Xbox employee with regards to which franchise should see a future iteration, and the fighting game Killer Instinct receiving only 11% of the total votes out of four selections.

Topics on this week’s show include:

  • FGC project progress
  • Fighting games position in the grand scope of the gaming industry
